Who are we?

In April 2012, Bitonic was the first company in the Netherlands to start offering (automated) bitcoins via iDEAL. We then expanded our services with our bitcoin exchange BL3P, a bitcoin savings service (Bits), an information platform: bitcoin.nl and the Bitonic Academy.

Bitonic is looking for an enthusiastic HR professional. Someone who's a go getter, does not back down from a challenge and would like to work in a scale-up environment with a lot of freedom and an unconventional approach. Together with your colleague and HR advisor Esmée, you will form the H&R team.

Within our H&R team there is a lot of room for own input and ideas and we have "short communication lines". Within holacracy you decide the way forward together with the rest of the company. At the moment we are busy with various process improvements, have the ambition to upgrade our recruitment process (procedure, onboarding, academy) and happiness at work and sustainable employability within the organization is an item that is often on the table. In other words: a very dynamic role. Do you regonize yourself in this?

What we expect from you?

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in HR, preferably in a Fintech/IT environment or start-up/scale-up setting;
  • You have HBO working and thinking level and preferably an HR-related education;
  • You have an overview of the complete HR process and you bring ideas for improvements;
  • We are looking for someone who does not back down from a challenge and who proactively takes on (new) tasks;
  • The H&R circle is also responsible for a number of administrative and operational processes. You are willing to participate in this (and improve where possible);
  • You identify bottlenecks and issues and tackle them proactively in order to find improvements/solutions;
  • You are open to work in an unconventional company with an unconventional structure (Holacracy);
  • You can communicate well with people of different nationalities and disciplines;
  • You have a good command of both the Dutch and English language. Our internal communication is English so please note that an interview in English is part of the application procedure.

Your work will consist of:

  • Working on finalizing and improving our processes for the wellbeing and development of our employees;
  • You advise (solicited and unsolicited) and support the company on (complex) HR-related issues, processes, various laws and regulations and in the implementation of HR policy;
  • You take a critical look at our HR processes across the board, and improve them where possible;
  • You act as a source of information and sparring partner for colleagues for HR related questions and you provide support with organizational issues and changes;
  • Attending meetings;
  • Together with your colleague Esmée, you are responsible for various HR projects (such as setting up a works council, organizational changes, but also themes such as sustainable employability and vitality);
  • You are responsible for recruitment; conducting job interviews and supporting interviewers in reviewing, scheduling and how to conduct interviews;
  • You are responsible for the correct implementation of the administrative HR procedures;
  • Participating in absenteeism management and writing policy documents;

Bitonic is a real tech company. We like to work hard, but we also think it's important to relax. As an HR professional you are in the middle of the company; you are in contact with all employees.

Our office is located on Weesperstraat in Amsterdam, a 5-minute walk from Weesperplein metro station. In mid-2022 we will move to a new office building on the Hoogte Kadijk, also in Amsterdam. This is easily accessible via tram and bus. Both offices are also accessible by car.

Furthermore you can expect:

  • A good salary, thirteenth month, training opportunities and 32 days off with a full-time (40) working week
  • A travel allowance of €0.19 cents per km or an NS Business Card;
