Today marks 10 years of Bitcoin blockchain!

Exactly 10 years ago, the so called 'genesis block' was created: the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain. Satoshi Nakamoto has left a statement with the creation of this first block, as can be seen in the block data: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks". This reference to the pront page of The Times, which underlines the start of the credit crisis, gave the go-ahead for the Bitcoin network. In honor of this reference, a tribute has been placed on the front page of that same newspaper.

In the past 10 years a lot has happened in the Bitcoin scene. The Bitcoin network has grown immensely in use, optimisations, possibilities and robustness. Technical developments are following through in rapid succession and actual use cases and applications are becoming more clear.

Congratulations to all on this fantastic milestone. On to the next 10 years!
