What is a proof of tax residence?

A proof of tax residence is a document that shows in which country you are tax resident. This document may be required to confirm your tax residence, allowing us to comply with legal obligations arising from the European directive DAC8.

This directive requires crypto-asset service providers to report certain customer details and aggregated transaction data to the tax authority. More information can be found in our FAQ about DAC8.

Accepted documents

We accept the following documents as proof of tax residence:

  • A certificate of residence (in Dutch: woonplaatsverklaring) issued by a tax authority;
  • A letter from a tax authority that clearly states your tax residence.

If you do not have one of the documents listed above, you may alternatively provide proof of residence, combined with an explanation indicating the country in which you are tax resident. On this page you can find which documents we accept as proof of residence.

Note:

  • You may cover non-relevant personal information.

You can safely upload the document through your account page. Make sure all required details are clearly visible and legible.
